You are immortal ones, not mortal. Mortal is the body, not the atma. Being born and going away is the jivatma, the soul. The soul is not the Self. The soul is individual, atma is universal. As long as you identify with your soul, you will be separated. When you will realise the atma, the soul will dissolve.

How? There are clouds in the sky and a strong wind comes and takes away the clouds, and there will again be blue sky. The soul is only a reflection of atma. It is not everlasting, not the ultimate truth.
